We had a lovely 2016 BMW M2 (N55 engine) on the Whifbitz dyno today for a remap using the Bootmod3 tuning software.
Baseline Power Run
Before tuning, we carried out a power run to check what the car was making in standard form:
- 334whp (wheel horsepower)
- 391bhp (brake horsepower)
That’s already a healthy figure, considering the factory quoted power is 370bhp – so this particular M2 is making more than stock right from the start so possibly mapped already.
Bootmod3 Stage 1 OTS Tune
We installed the Bootmod3 Stage 1 OTS (Off-The-Shelf) map, designed to safely unlock more power while keeping everything within reliable limits.
Results After Tuning
With the Stage 1 OTS map loaded, the results speak for themselves:
- 359whp
- 419bhp
That’s a gain of +28bhp over the baseline and a total of +49bhp over factory quoted power.

Conclusion
A simple Stage 1 software upgrade using Bootmod3 has transformed this M2, adding sharper throttle response, more mid-range torque, and a healthy bump in peak power – all while remaining daily-drivable.
