2021 Toyota GR Supra A90 – DO88 Carbon Intake & Remap at Garage Whifbitz

We recently had this 2021 Toyota GR Supra A90 in at Garage Whifbitz for some investigation and performance upgrades. The car already had a custom Ecutek map from elsewhere, but the owner wasn’t happy with how it was performing and wanted us to take a closer look.

Initial Dyno Run

As always, we carried out a baseline power run on our dyno before starting any work. The customer mentioned the car felt down on power, and he was right — it produced only 231whp (around 280bhp), far lower than expected for a tuned Supra A90.

Fixing the Issue & Upgrades

We quickly identified and resolved the underlying issue. To help the engine breathe better, we fitted a DO88 carbon fibre intake kit, which improves airflow and adds a crisp induction sound with a premium carbon finish under the bonnet.

This A90 was already running a Remark exhaust system, sports cat, and a Forge chargepipe, giving it a strong foundation for tuning.

Custom Remap on Ecutek

With the problem sorted and the new intake in place, we carried out our own custom Ecutek remap. This gave us full control over the ECU, allowing us to optimise the power delivery, torque curve, and overall drivability while maintaining reliability.

The Results

The difference is night and day. The Supra now makes an impressive 473bhp, with sharper throttle response, stronger power throughout the rev range, and a far more exciting driving experience.
