Toyota Chaser JZX100 In The Workshop – Performance & Practical Upgrades

Last week at Whifbitz, we had this clean Toyota Chaser JZX100 back in the workshop for a few upgrades and adjustments to refine both performance and usability.

This car is already a great example of a well put together JZX100, sitting on a Vertex body kit, paired perfectly with Work Emotion 18″ wheels and BC Racing coilovers, giving it that classic OEM+ JDM look.

🔧 Work carried out:

  • GReddy Front Mount Intercooler Kit
  • Whifbitz Decat Pipe
  • Suspension Adjustment (raised slightly for better usability)

We upgraded the cooling setup with a GReddy front mount intercooler kit, improving airflow and reducing intake temperatures — a key upgrade for getting the most out of the 1JZ.

To complement the existing Whifbitz Chaser exhaust system, we fitted one of our Whifbitz decat pipes, allowing for improved exhaust flow and a more responsive feel, along with a sharper, more aggressive tone.

The car was previously sitting too low on its BC Racing coilovers, which made it less practical for road use. We’ve raised the suspension slightly to strike a better balance between stance and usability — making it far more comfortable and functional on real roads without losing its aggressive look.

The result:

A properly sorted JZX100 with the right balance of style, performance, and drivability — improved cooling, freer-flowing exhaust, and a ride height that actually works on UK roads.

If you’re running a Chaser or any JZX platform and want to improve performance or dial in your setup properly, Whifbitz has you covered.
