Toyota Crown 1JZ-GTE VVTI – Cambelt, Seals & Diff Work

We recently had this stunning Toyota Crown in the workshop, powered by the legendary 1JZ-GTE VVTI engine, for some essential maintenance and repair work.

Our team carried out the following jobs:

  • Cambelt replacement – we replaced the cambelt, idler and tensioner.
  • Crankshaft and camshaft seal replacement – these were leaking due to old age.
  • Cam cover seals – a common issue on the JZ engines these days due to old age.
  • Alternator replacement – the original alternator stopped charging.
  • Replacement used differential fitted – the old diff was worn, so we sourced and fitted a good used unit to restore proper drivetrain function.

It’s always a pleasure working on these iconic Japanese luxury-sport saloons, and this one is now ready to hit the road again in great shape.
