Toyota Crown 1JZ-GTE VVTi

We had this rather cool Toyota Crown 1JZ-GTE VVTi in the Whifbitz workshop recently to diagnose a running issue. We quickly found the problem with the fault being a dodgy map sensor, so in went a new Link 3 bar. The Toyota Crown had already been mapped on a Link ecu and the owner was reporting some issues with the way it was running.

The Crown already has a hybrid turbo, ID1000cc injectors and an exhaust system but the power is limited by the 4 speed auto gearbox thats fitted, these start to slip around 400bhp and break easily too at this kind of power. So we gave it a full remap on our dyno limiting power to 294whp which is about 366bhp.

Whilst the Crown was in the workshop we also fixed engine oil leaks coming from the camshaft and crankshaft seals, along with a new genuine Toyota cambelt and crank pulley.
