Toyota GR Yaris In For Performance Mods & ECU Remap

We recently had this Toyota GR Yaris in the workshop for a solid round of performance upgrades and an ECUTEK remap, transforming an already quick hot hatch into something seriously special.

The GR Yaris is an incredible platform from the factory, but with the right supporting mods and calibration, there’s a lot more performance waiting to be unlocked.

Existing Modifications

Before arriving with us, this GR Yaris was already running some quality hardware:

  • MST V2 Intake
  • Milltek Resonated Exhaust System

A great base to work from, improving airflow and sound while retaining daily usability.

Mods Installed by Garage Whifbitz

To further improve exhaust flow and prepare the car properly for tuning, we fitted:

  • Airtec GPF Pipe
  • Whifbitz Resonated Stainless Steel GPF Pipe

These upgrades reduce restriction from the factory GPF setup while keeping noise levels sensible thanks to the resonated design – perfect for fast road use.

Power Check Results

Before any tuning work was carried out, we power-checked the GR Yaris to get an accurate baseline.

Pre-Remap Figures:

  • 244 WHP
  • Approx. 295 BHP (crank)

This showed the car was already making strong power thanks to the existing intake and exhaust setup.

ECUTEK ECU Remap Results

After fitting the Airtec and Whifbitz GPF pipes, we carried out a custom ECUTEK ECU remap to fully optimise the setup.

Post-Remap Figures:

  • Approx. 268 WHP
  • 324 BHP (crank)

That’s a +24 WHP gain and a huge improvement in overall performance, throttle response, and mid-range punch.

ECUTEK Features Enabled

As part of the ECUTEK remap, we also enabled some fantastic driver-focused features:

  • Flat Foot Shifting – faster, smoother gear changes under full throttle
  • Rolling Anti-Lag – improved response on the move with that unmistakable motorsport feel

These features take the driving experience to the next level and really suit the character of the GR Yaris.

The end result is a much faster, sharper and more engaging GR Yaris, with a strong power increase while retaining reliability and drivability. Exactly how these cars should feel.
