Toyota GR Yaris Upgrades & EcuTek Remap – Kelford Cams, Forge Intercooler & Supporting Mods | Garage Whifbitz

Another Toyota GR Yaris in the Garage Whifbitz workshop for a series of upgrades and ECU tuning.

This car already had a number of supporting modifications fitted before arriving with us, and we carried out additional hardware upgrades along with a full EcuTek calibration to make the most of the setup.

The car is running on 99RON fuel.

Existing Modifications

Before arriving at Garage Whifbitz the GR Yaris was already fitted with:

  • HJS Sports Cat
  • MST V2 Intake Kit
  • Mongoose Exhaust System
  • Whifbitz GPF Delete Pipe

These upgrades provide improved airflow and reduced exhaust restriction, forming a good foundation for further tuning.

Work Carried Out at Garage Whifbitz

Kelford EZ Cams & Valve Springs
We installed Kelford EZ camshafts together with upgraded valve springs to improve valvetrain stability and allow the engine to operate efficiently at higher boost levels.

Forge Motorsport Intercooler & Pipe Kit
The Forge Motorsport intercooler and pipework improve charge air cooling and airflow efficiency, helping to maintain consistent performance during hard driving.

SRD Baffled Sump
An SRD baffled sump was fitted to improve oil control under acceleration and cornering, helping protect the engine during spirited driving.

Turbosmart Blow Off Valve
A Turbosmart BOV was installed to improve boost control and provide a crisp pressure release between gear changes.

EcuTek Remap
The vehicle was calibrated using EcuTek software to optimise the setup and take full advantage of the supporting hardware. The tune includes additional performance features:

  • Rolling Anti-Lag
  • Flat Foot Shifting
  • Launch Control

Transmission & Differential Oil Service
We also carried out a gearbox and differential oil change to ensure everything is operating correctly.

Power Results

After tuning on 99RON fuel, the GR Yaris produced:

  • Low Boost Setting: 269whp (324bhp)
  • High Boost Setting: 297whp (357bhp)

This provides a flexible setup with a lower boost map for normal driving and a higher boost map when maximum performance is required.

The Result

With improved airflow, upgraded valvetrain components and a fully optimised ECU calibration, this GR Yaris now delivers strong, responsive performance while maintaining reliability for fast road use.
