We recently had this stunning Toyota Supra 6-speed twin turbo in the Whifbitz workshop for some maintenance and a few upgrades.
The new owner wasn’t happy with the clutch setup that came on the car — it was fitted with a Spec Stage 3 clutch, which proved too harsh for everyday driving and unnecessary for the car’s current power level. To improve drivability while maintaining strong torque handling, we fitted a Spec Stage 1 clutch, which drives almost like the original OEM Toyota clutch but can still handle up to 575 lb/ft of torque.
As this Supra is a Japanese import, the speedometer was still reading in km/h, so we converted it to mph for UK roads.
During inspection, we also found some play in the rear suspension, traced back to a worn upper suspension arm. This was replaced with a brand new OEM Toyota arm to restore proper handling and stability.
Additionally, we fitted a Whifbitz header tank, as the car didn’t have one at all. While under the bonnet, we also noticed the intercooler wasn’t properly secured — the top section wasn’t fixed to the chassis — so that was corrected too.

Dyno Power Check
To finish off, we had the car on our dyno for a power check. It produced 339whp, which works out to around 397bhp at the flywheel, running 1.2 bar of boost. That’s slightly down on what we’d normally expect given the car’s modifications, but the customer was happy with how it’s performing for now.
