We had this stunning BMW M3 in with us yesterday for a full health check and dyno power run. The new owner has just picked up the car and wanted to make sure everything’s in top shape before diving into any performance modifications — a smart move and something we always recommend.
Full Inspection & Common Issues
During the inspection, we carried out a compression test to assess the engine’s internal condition — all looking good there. We also flagged up a few of the usual suspects these M3s tend to suffer with over time:
- Leaking sump gasket
- Rocker cover gasket seepage
- Cracked suspension arm bushes
- Cracked differential bushes
All pretty standard wear-and-tear items, and nothing that can’t be sorted easily.
Dyno Power Check
To make sure it’s producing the power it should, we also ran the M3 on our dyno. The result? A spot-on 448bhp, right on the money. It’s always reassuring to see those numbers come up just as expected — great news for the owner and a solid base for future upgrades.
What’s Next?
We’ll be seeing this M3 back in the workshop soon to take care of the maintenance work, and after that, the fun begins — modifications incoming! We’re looking forward to helping the owner bring their vision to life with performance upgrades tailored to their goals.
